Riverwatch Alert

Riverwatchers,

I apologize for filling your inbox, but several people, as well as myself, noticed that someone has been dumping crab shells in the water at the boat ramp. This is unbelievable and wrong, the river is not a trash dump. Also, someone could cut themselves going into the water to put in their boat or letting their dogs go for a swim.

If you know who is doing it. please let me know and if you see them, please tell them to stop.

Thanks,

Your Board,

Riverwatch Alert

Riverwatchers,

I just have a couple of suggestions based on recent conversations with many of you.

  • If you need to find someone for home improvements, etc. try Home Advisors. I’ve found that they will give you a list that has been vetted.
  • The dock has some flooring that is warped and loose, please be careful until we can get it fixed.
  • The water is on at the end of the boat ramp if you want to wash off your boat or jet ski. We still need to get a hose down there.
  • Also, the electricity is working at the end of the boat ramp, we still have some work to do on it, but it’s usable.
  • If you walk the nature trail, please check yourself for Tic’s, they seem to be abundant this year.
  • We are 30 days away from the 3rd 5K walk/run Saturday, June 29th for the VA Special Olympics, please join us or contribute. $25 donation gets you a Riverwatch shirt, food, and entertainment, even if you don’t want to do the race. Because it’s a charity donation, you can write it off on your taxes for 2019. View the sign-up sheet.

Enjoy your summer!

Memorial Day Picnic/Party

Riverwatchers,

I really enjoyed seeing everyone yesterday at the kick off to the summer party. A special thanks go out to Anne and Charlie Patullo for organizing and setting up the picnic/party. Something Anne and Charlie believe in and brought to Riverwatch is creating a sense of community and I can honestly say , it was the most fun and well attended social function we have had since I moved into Riverwatch, let’s keep it going. Also, thank you to each person that attended and brought great food, I don’t thank anyone left hungry. We will continue looking into other get-togethers we can have throughout the summer. If you have any ideas, let us know.

Remember, starting this and each Friday evening at 5:00 we will be having Happy Hour, very informal, at the pavilion, bring your own drink and food, it’s just a chance to meet with neighbors/friends and kick off the weekend.

Thank you again for a great time,

Go Riverwatch!

Riverwatchers,

I just wanted to send out a few reminders for us all.

  • It’s that time of year where more people will be walking throughout the neighborhood, particularly in the evenings after work, please keep an eye out and slow down. The speed limit is 25mph.
  • The great deal that East West Communities is offering on property ends this month, if interested, let Clem Carsile know.
  • Let Charlie Patullo know if you are attending the Memorial Day barbeque, we hope to see you there. Come out and meet your neighbors.
  • The pool opens on the 27th
  • Keep the Riverwatch Wave going when you see anyone in the neighborhood.
  • June 29th, the HoA 3rd Riverwatrch on the Piankantank 5K run/walk charity race. Go to www.runsignup.com and take care of people in the Special Olympics. A special thanks to Mary and Danny Hunley who donated $200 dollars.
  • The storage yard is for utility vehicles, boats, RV’s, only, if you have crab pots, hoses or anything else in there, please remove them or they will be placed outside the storage yard.
  • Please review your by-laws and reach out to the board before making any changes to your home or property.
  • July 20th 10:00 to 12:00 Board of Directors meeting at the pool.

We look forward to seeing you on the 27th, we’ll cook your hotdog or hamburger any way you like it.

Riverwatch Update

Riverwatchers,

Welcome to Spring, isn’t it great! Your board has a lot of activities underway, which we hope you will enjoy. Charlie Patullo has taken over the management of the pool and dock and has generated a new set of rules that are available here (.pdf). Below is his update.

Riverwatch Community Pool and Dock Update
May 2019

Summer is around the corner and many exciting things are happening at our pool and dock.

The pool will be opening Saturday, May 25, 2019, at 9 am.

We are planning a Community Memorial Day picnic on Monday May 27th, from 1 pm to 5 pm. Details to follow. Please plan to attend.

We have contracted a new company, Sage Pools, to maintain the pool, clean bathrooms, and pavilion, empty trash, and maintain the pool deck three days a week.

1. The Parking lot has been repaired, re-coated, and re-stripped.
2. The wooden decking has been repaired (replaced rotten wood) power washed and stained – Looks Great!
3. The Community clubhouse has been power washed and painted, including the kitchen and bathrooms – A bright new color!
4. New signs will be posted around the pool deck.
5. New and updated pool and pavilion rules will be enacted this summer. (See the attached)
6. We will be repairing, replacing, and adding electrical equipment and fixtures at the pool and dock; to include ceiling fans in the pavilion and electric power at the dock.
7. We are getting quotes to add an outside shower at the pool to enable people to “rinse” off before entering the pool. Also, repairing the water connection at the dock.
8. We are getting quotes for a 3-phase plan to start replacing the decking on the dock.

If you have any questions and/or suggestions, please contact Charlie Patullo: (cpatullo57@gmail.com) or 571-233-7338.

A special thanks to Mike AtLee for his support and guidance with the projects at our community pool and dock.

Thank you for all your support,

Charlie Patullo – Vice President Riverwatch HoA

Lastly, please review your by-laws before taking actions. The by-laws were created to benefit all of us and ultimately add value to all of our homes. If you have any questions, please call anyone on the board or the management company and ask for Beth Pryor.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Riverwatchers,

Pete and June Mancini shared a note they got for the Next door app. The Harcum Piankatank Community League, PCL, shared this with us to join if you would like to. There is no cost and it’s private for the neighbors that sign up.

Go to www.nextdoor.com/join and enter the password/code PSSCRF. This code expires in 6 days.
